European School of Antennas, Ph.D. Course on “Metasurfaces and Metatronics”

25-29 September 2017
Università degli Studi di Siena, Dip. di Ingegneria dell’Informazione e
Scienze Matematiche, Via roma 56, 53100, Siena, aula 149,
Metasurfaces (MTS) constitute an emerging technology area that can be
employed for realizing highly customizable devices that find EM
application in antennas, metamaterials, plasmonics, microwaves.
Metatronics (MTX) concerns with the generation of space-time varying,
controllable, new materials (often nano-structured) exhibiting unusual EM
macroscopic properties and functionalities.  This course is intended to
provide the necessary theoretical background and insight on the new MTS
technology and its MTX reconfigurability, contextualized with their
relevant EM applications.  Relevant classwork will be proposed to
strengthen the acquired notions as well.  This course has been organized
in a joint initiatives among the European School of Antennas (ESoA)
H2020 FET-Open Coordination and Support Action “Nanoarchitectronics”
Metamorphose Virtual Institute of Metamaterials.
