Questa terza edizione della Giornata di Studio sulla Compatibilità Elettromagnetica intitolata alla memoria del Prof. Paolo Corona, ad un anno dalla sua scomparsa, ha come tema principale l’analisi e il confronto sui problemi elettromagnetici che caratterizzano i diversi settori della società contemporanea.
Per valorizzare i giovani ricercatori italiani operanti in questo settore, nella seconda parte della giornata studio, sotto il patrocinio dell’IEEE e nell’ambito del premio intitolato alla memoria del Prof. Paolo Corona, saranno premiati i tre migliori poster sulla Compatibilità Elettromagnetica. Il linguaggio e i contenuti saranno di facile comprensione, tagliati su misura per centrare l’obiettivo della giornata studio.

Prof. Paolo Corona was one of the pioneers in the characterization and application of electromagnetic (EM) reverberation chambers (RCs) in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and measurement. His work and vision have left an immense legacy that has helped to shape our modern understanding of RCs for practitioners in EMC, up to the present day. In
addition, he was also an exceptional Professor who always emphasized with students sharing with them its passion for knowledge and curiosity.
As a matter of fact, this year we included a specific event within the IEEE EMC day: “the Young Professionals Forum”. This event, which is framed in the IEEE Italy Section Young Professionals (YP) program, is geared towards young researchers, i.e.; up to fifteen years from the first degree, and offers a great opportunity to young researchers to be on the stage showing advancements in their fields.
However, to stimulate interaction between young and senior researchers and to take benefit of the legacy of Prof Corona who thought that “teaching is not just a delivering process or a mechanical process, indeed it is an emphatic one that also aims at fostering interest in the subject” the event is designed as a “poster session” where young researchers are expected to illustrate their achievements
in any field of EMC through and effective poster which has to be explained by a 3-minute speech.
As you’d imagine, it can be difficult to condense all that research and knowledge into a 3-minute speech, yet still convey all the pertinent information. But that’s exactly why it’s such a great exercise for all speakers….that Prof. Corona would have appreciated!
A commission will evaluate all the presentations and rank the best three ones that will be awarded with a prize sponsored by the IEEE EMC Italy Chapter. In addition, a video will be shot for each participant that will be uploaded on the Youtube channel of Università di Napoli Parthenope.
