Introduction

Suppliers and manufacturers in aerospace industry face continuous pressure to meet increasing regulatory requirements. More and more sophisticated technologies and services have to be accommodated, while costs and time of the procurement process need to be reduced. In this scenario EMC engineers search for advanced approaches and techniques in modelling, design, production, and testing with the ultimate objectives to achieve built-in design compatibility and to avoid costly improvements in already integrated systems.

The main goals of the Aerospace EMC 2012 are to:

• establish an open forum for EMC researchers and engineers involved in aerospace,
• give a wide overview of the present state of EMC technologies and trends, and
• encourage awareness of future developments and foster discussion to allow the EMC community to keep pace with spacecraft and aircraft design advances and challenges.

Call for abstracts

Oral and poster presentations during the 2012 ESA Workshop on Aerospace EMC will be selected on the basis of 2 page abstracts. The template is available on the conference website.

Abstracts should contain the following information:

• Workshop name and proposed topic for the paper
• Title of paper
• Name and affiliation of author(s)
• Addresses, e-mail, telephone and fax numbers
• Name of the prime author or contact person
• Summary of the paper

Abstracts should be submitted at latest by 15 November 2011 to the ESA Conference Bureau using the online system. Abstracts submitted by e-mail or not using the required template will not be considered for review.

Conference

International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility

The Symposium:

EMC Europe, the leading EMC Symposium in Europe, will be held at the "Sapienza" University of Rome, Italy, in September 17‐21, 2012. We wish to invite and encourage all those working in electromagnetic compatibility to participate in this prestigious event. EMC research and conferences in Europe have a long tradition. From the series of independent EMC Symposia based in Wroclaw, Zurich and Rome running every second year, has now emerged EMC Europe which will be organised every year in a European city to provide an international forum for the exchange of technical information on EMC.

Technical Scope:

Authors are invited to submit original contributions on all EMC‐related aspects in the technical areas listed in the following. Only full papers 4‐6 pages in length, in IEEE format, will be considered by the deadlines (see important dates). In addition, Workshop, Tutorial, Short‐Courses and other Special Sessions will be organised to provide up‐to‐date practical help to those new to the subject or requiring an update, as well as to address in more depth topical subjects. Normal preliminary paper submission should be done electronically through the EMC Europe 2012 website.

There will be a technical exhibition held in parallel with the conference. Sponsorship opportunities will also be available.

IMWS 2012

The workshop:

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on Millimeter Wave Wireless Technology and Applications (IMWS 2012) is an initiative promoted by the MTT-S Transnational Committee, to complement the existing workshops of the MTT-S International Microwave Symposia. The purpose of this new platform is to boost and promote MTT-S technical and educational activities as well as MTT-S international exchanges and collaborations. IMWS2012 will be held in Nanjing, China on September 18-20, 2012.
