XX Riunione Nazionale di Elettromagnetismo
Padova, 15-18 Settembre, 2014

La XX Riunione Nazionale di Elettromagnetismo si terrà a Padova dal 15 al 18 Settembre 2014 e sarà organizzata e ospitata dal Gruppo di Fotonica e Campi Elettromagnetici dell’Università degli Studi di Padova. La Riunione costituisce un momento significativo di confronto e formazione per i più giovani e offre una panoramica completa sulla ricerca in Italia nel campo dell’elettromagnetismo. Per incentivare la partecipazione attiva dei ricercatori più giovani e dei dottorandi verranno assegnati alcuni riconoscimenti tra cui iI premio Barzilai per il migliore articolo proposto da autori al di sotto dei 35 anni.

Gli argomenti principali della Riunione, a cui siete invitati a partecipare inviando entro il 31 marzo 2014 10 Aprile 2014 contributi in inglese, sono:

Since 2010, after Qi standard of an inductive coupling wireless power transmission was established, Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) related technologies experienced a great growth. Wireless charging products of a mobile phone with Qi standard are manufactured and sold in worldwide and WPT technologies have been widely studied for consumer electronics and automotive applications.

A new technical committee (TC), MTT-26, for the field of wireless energy/power transmission, energy harvesting/conversion to wireless transfer and the related technologies was officially launched in June MTT ADCOM/TCC meeting during Microwave Week 2011 at Baltimore. The second IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series (IMWS) on Innovative Wireless Power Transmission: Technologies, Systems, and Applications (IMWS-IWPT2012) was successfully organized at Kyoto, Japan, in May 2012. As a result of this success and interest, IEEE-MTT Society decided to start the first IEEE WPTC (Wireless Power Transfer Conference) 2013 in Perugia, Italy.

In order to continue the success of IEEE WPTC 2013, IEEE WPTC 2014 event, still stimulated and supported by TC-MTT-26 and endorsed by TC-MTT-24 (RFID-Technologies), will be held in Jeju Island, Korea, hosted by KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology).

NEMO2014 is a brand new international conference, which aims to bring together experts and practitioners of computational electromagnetics for RF, microwave, and terahertz applications. This conference will be the ideal venue to share new ideas on numerical techniques for electromagnetic modeling, propose efficient design algorithms and tools, and anticipate the modeling needs of future technologies and applications. The conference will feature an exciting technical program, an industry exhibit, and invited talks by worldwide recognized experts in computational electromagnetics.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Perspective authors are required to submit a preliminary 4-page paper in PDF format via the NEMO2014 paper submission website. The paper should explain clearly the original content and relevance of the proposed technical contribution. Papers must be written in English and formatted in the standard conference proceedings layout. Word or Latex Templates can be downloaded from the IEEE Conference Publishing site. Submissions in hardcopy form or by fax or e-mail cannot be accepted. The deadline for the submission of papers is December 31, 2013

 

STUDENT PAPER CONTEST

A Student Contest will be held during NEMO2014. The contest is open to all Master and PhD students, which appear as the first author and present the paper at the conference. Students intending to participate in the contest are invited to tick the appropriate box during the online submission process.

Call for Papers

Due to exceptionally high data rates attainable with modern wireless communication systems and the app-based use paradigm, wireless connectivity through multiple air interfaces has become a common requirement in the RF architecture of mobile communication devices. Modern wireless handsets frequently incorporate three or more antennas to enable cellular voice and data, Wi-Fi, and GPS connectivity, across multiple bands. Multiple antenna systems are frequently designed to implement diversity or spatial multiplexing schemes, as in the case of WCDMA and LTE, to increase resiliency and capacity of wireless links and to operate multiple voice/data links simultaneously. Carrier aggregation is demanding that multiple cellular band be served simultaneously. Concurrently, ultrawideband (UWB) systems used in short range communications, remote sensing, and through-the-wall radar imaging have introduced a new paradigm in the antenna design where the mitigation of pulse distortion is of the essence, thus requiring a shift in antenna design approach and the introduction of novel radiating systems. As a consequence of these trends, the degree of complexity and difficulty in the design and implementation of wireless device antenna systems and associated RF front-ends has grown dramatically, requiring ever more innovative solutions.
