Biography Info

Luca Pierantoni received the Laurea Degree (1988, summa cum laude) in Electronic Engineering and the PhD Degree (1993) in Electromagnetics from the University of Ancona, Italy. From 1996 to 2000, he worked at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, as Senior Research Scientist. Currently, he is Full Professor of Electromagnetic Fields at the Università Politecnica delle Marche (UnivPM), Italy. Since 2011, he is a member of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), Rome, Italy. Visiting Professor: Technical University of Munich (TUM, 2002-2013), the Institute of High-Performance Computing, Singapore (IHPC, 2012), the University of Lille, France (IEMN, 2017). IEEE Awards: in recognition for service as i) Technical Committee Chair of RF Nanotechnology, ii) Distinguished Microwave Lecturer, from the MTT-S. Research: i) multi-physics modeling of nano/meso-scale devices/systems, including electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, spintronics, photonics, opto-mechanics, plasmonics, metamaterials; ii) atomistic simulations of 2D-materials. Grants: he is the UnivPM PI in 8 European (competitive) Projects. Publications: author/coauthor of about 250 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
